After a long week of watching our Polish nation mourning I am back on
shim. We had so many talks about the national catastrophe. We would meet
with friends and the first word would be: Why did it happen? Who is
guilty? How was something like that possible? But in the end we would pray
together. God knows what he is doing. And only He knows how to speak to a
very, very religious nation-- with authority.
During my stay at Galya, an elderly Odessa lady who was raised during Soviet Union, I have the privilege to watch Ukrainian and Russian TV 24-7. The small TV set in the kitchen where we have breakfast and dinner is impressing. Modern post-Soviet media are extremely powerful. Not less than the radio-tochka or the later radio-priyemnik of the fifties. Entertaining and shaping your opinion. Nothing can be more influential.

Friday night. Everyone here is preparing for the Easter celebration. On the markets they had special prices, not lower but higher than usual. At the university we had two more very intensive "academic board meetings". I go relaxed into this weekend. Our new PR-manager is a young and ambitious man. We became friends after a short talk. It's a great pleasure for me to work with young and determined people.
It's still cold here as you can see on the picture below:
